Moscow Exchange to launch five crypto perpetual futures September 22

Moscow Exchange will launch perpetual futures tied to five crypto indexes on September 22. The contracts will c over BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP and TRX, with access restricted to qualified investors. The products will settle in Russian rubles and will not require delivery of the underlying digital assets.

The exchange said the contracts will trade as one-day futures with automatic roll over, allowing investors to take positions on cryptocurrency price movements without directly holding the assets. Contracts will be quoted using the U.S. dollar value of each Moscow Exchange crypto index, while settlement will occur in rubles. The exchange already offers conventional futures linked to several of these digital assets.

Moscow Exchange said more than 72,000 qualified investors have traded its existing digital-asset futures since their introduction last year, generating more than 600 billion rubles in total transaction volume. The new perpetual products expand its regulated derivatives offering ahead of the September 22 launch.

Why it matters

The launch expands regulated crypto derivatives access in Russia while giving professional investors new tools to trade crypto price movements without holding the underlying assets.
