Ethereum Whale Completes 52,000 ETH Exit With $24.49 Million Profit

An unidentified whale or institution that traded through Galaxy Digital’s over-the-counter desk sold its final 10,000 ETH on October 14, completing a liquidation of 52,000 ETH, according to BlockBeats, citing on-chain monitoring by EmberCN. The final sale was worth about $25 million.

The address accumulated 52,000 ETH between July and September at an average price of $2,161 per token, then began selling in batches in late September. Its average sale price was $2,632, leaving the trader with an estimated $24.49 million profit over about two and a half months.

The address’s owner has not been publicly identified. The reported transactions do not establish whether the disposals affected ETH’s broader market price, and the over-the-counter route may differ from orders executed directly on public exchanges.

Why it matters

The completed liquidation highlights how large holders can realize substantial profits after accumulating Ethereum at lower prices. However, the transaction alone does not establish a broader market trend or confirm sustained selling pressure on ETH.
