Robinhood Adds $25 Million in Bitcoin to Its Balance Sheet

Robinhood (HOOD) with a large outline ring accent

Robinhood has added about $25 million worth of Bitcoin to its corporate balance sheet, marking its entry into the growing Bitcoin treasury trend. Johann Kerbrat, Robinhood’s senior vice president and general manager of crypto and international, disclosed the purchase on Wednesday. He said the investment reflects the company’s commitment to Bitcoin and the broader crypto ecosystem.

The purchase is modest compared with Robinhood’s roughly $100 billion market value. Kerbrat said the position will not materially change the company’s trajectory. However, it gives Robinhood direct corporate exposure to BTC, separate from the cryptocurrency assets it holds for customers. The move also comes as public companies increasingly use Bitcoin as a treasury asset.

Meanwhile, Robinhood continues expanding its crypto business. The company launched Robinhood Chain’s public mainnet in July and plans to introduce perpetual futures for eligible U.S. customers. Strategy also bought another 334 BTC recently, bringing its holdings to 848,000 BTC.

Why it matters

Robinhood's move adds another major financial platform to the Bitcoin treasury trend. It also strengthens the company's direct alignment with the crypto market.
