Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang Linked to Alleged Chinese Intelligence Operation
U.S. intelligence officials identified a Chinese businesswoman with close ties to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang as a suspected intelligence asset for Beijing, The New York Times reported October 29, 2026. The woman, Alice Huang, allegedly passed information to Chinese authorities while maintaining contact with the semiconductor executive. President Donald Trump received a briefing about the findings roughly a year ago but took no action, according to the report.
Alice Huang, also known as Huang Le, was an executive at Singapore-based data center operator Megaspeed. U.S. authorities had already investigated concerns that the company helped China access restricted Nvidia artificial intelligence chips. Surveillance reportedly revealed her relationship with Jensen Huang, raising national security concerns. However, investigators have not publicly established that Nvidia’s CEO knowingly participated in intelligence activities.
Nvidia defended the interactions as routine customer meetings and said Megaspeed received no sensitive trade secrets or national security information. Megaspeed said it had hired outside counsel to investigate the allegations. Meanwhile, Chinese officials rejected the accusations. The developments add uncertainty to Nvidia’s China business as Washington continues debating restrictions on advanced AI chip exports.
