ARK Invest Shifts $110 Million From AMD Into Nvidia
ARK Invest shifted more than $190 million across two leading AI-chip stocks on September 29. The firm bought 356,681 Nvidia shares worth about $81 million while selling 181,767 AMD shares for roughly $110 million. The trades came as both companies remained central to investor focus on artificial intelligence infrastructure.
The Nvidia purchase followed the chipmaker’s September 28 announcement of a $150 billion increase to its share-buyback authorization. That move lifted Nvidia’s total authorized repurchases to $235 billion through fiscal 2028. Meanwhile, AMD recently agreed to acquire AI startup World Labs for $8.2 billion in an all-stock deal. ARK has not publicly disclosed a specific reason for the AMD sale, according to recent reports.
ARK also bought 76,263 Broadcom shares worth about $25.6 million. The transactions indicate a notable reallocation within ARK’s semiconductor exposure, although they do not establish a stated investment thesis from the firm.
Why it matters
