XRP Ledger Batch V1.1 needs two more votes to clear activation threshold
XRP Ledger’s Batch V1.1 amendment had 27 of 35 trusted validators supporting it on September 15. That leaves it two votes short of the 29 needed to exceed the network’s 80% activation threshold.
The upgrade would let users bundle up to eight transactions into one atomic operation. Linked actions would either all succeed or fail together, potentially simplifying token swaps, marketplace settlements, and other multi-step applications. However, activation is not immediate after the vote threshold is reached. XRPL requires support above 80% for 14 consecutive days, and the countdown restarts if support falls below that level.
Batch V1.1 replaces an earlier Batch implementation that developers disabled after discovering a critical authorization flaw. XRPL says the replacement fixes that vulnerability, while additional security reviews addressed further issues. Therefore, the upgrade could improve transaction coordination, but calling it a confirmed Q4 catalyst for XRP would be premature. The feature changes XRPL functionality, not XRP’s monetary supply or transaction speed.
Why it matters
Batch could expand XRPL's utility for complex applications and institutional workflows. However, its market impact on XRP remains uncertain until adoption follows activation.
