Robinhood Invests $25 Million in Crusoe as AI Infrastructure Surges
Robinhood Ventures Fund I invested about $25 million in Crusoe through its $3.9 billion Series F round. The deal closed August 31 and values the AI infrastructure company at $30.9 billion.
Crusoe launched in 2018 as a cryptocurrency business before shifting toward AI infrastructure. The Denver-based company now builds AI data centers and provides cloud services for large computing workloads. Its latest funding round was co-led by Atreides Management, Mubadala Capital and Valor Equity Partners, with backing from investors including NVIDIA and Qatar Investment Authority.
Robinhood said the investment gives its publicly traded closed-end fund exposure to Crusoe. RVI began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in March and holds stakes in private companies. Crusoe said it has more than $140 billion in contracted value and over 6 gigawatts of contracted capacity, with 1 gigawatt already operational.
Why it matters
The deal shows how capital is moving from cryptocurrency infrastructure toward AI computing capacity. It also gives public-market investors indirect exposure to a private AI infrastructure company.
