Kraken Parent Payward Expands 24/7 Institutional Settlement Across Asia and Gulf
Payward, the parent company of Kraken, partnered with Singapore Gulf Bank on Oct. 5, 2026. The deal gives selected institutional clients in Asia and the Gulf instant settlement around the clock. The service initially supports U.S. dollar transactions through SGB Net, the bank’s real-time clearing network.
The partnership also connects Singapore Gulf Bank with Kraken Prime for digital-asset liquidity. SGB plans to use Payward’s markets to price trades for its customers. Meanwhile, SGB Net has grown to process more than $20 billion in fiat transactions monthly, according to the companies.
The rollout remains limited to selected jurisdictions and clients. However, Payward and SGB plan to add more customers and currencies over time. The move addresses a key institutional crypto challenge: digital assets trade continuously while traditional banking rails often follow fixed operating hours.
Why it matters
Faster fiat settlement can reduce funding delays for institutional crypto traders. Broader currency and client support could increase the partnership's market impact.
