DroneShield Stock Hits One-Month High on $500 Million U.S. Deal

DroneShield shares rose 9% to A$1.76 on Wednesday, reaching a one-month high after the Australian counter-drone company secured access to a U.S. government contract vehicle worth up to $500 million. The stock reached A$1.795 intraday, outperforming the broader S&P/ASX 200, which gained 0.5%.

The three-year contract supports Joint Interagency Task Force 401’s Domestic Shield initiative. It creates a procurement pathway for DroneShield’s counter-uncrewed aircraft systems across U.S. military installations, critical infrastructure and other priority locations. However, the $500 million represents the contract ceiling, not guaranteed revenue or confirmed orders. DroneShield said it will disclose material orders awarded under the agreement.

The agreement builds on DroneShield’s existing work with JIATF-401. The company recently completed installation and acceptance of its DroneSentry-X Mk2 systems under an earlier U.S. program.

Why it matters

The contract expands DroneShield's access to U.S. defense procurement. Investors will now watch for actual orders and revenue tied to the agreement.
